From murals to painting and decorating

A brief background

It is a bit of a family tradition for The Best family to work within a creative and artistic field.

Graham's Grandfather, Samuel Best, worked as a Professional Artist & Cartoonist - During the late 1940's and early 1950's he enjoyed success with many published cartoons in the Daily Express and New Musical Express as well as featured cartoonist on the front cover of Matchday Programmes for top West London Football Clubs such as Chelsea, Fulham, Brentford & Queens Park Rangers.

This tradition continued as his Father John, a Signwriter, worked as a Decor & Lettering Artist for the legendary Pinewood Film Studios between 1962-1987. Within this 25 year period, he worked on many, many, amazing productions including all the James Bond Series of Films and ended up as Head Signwriter before setting up business on his own.

It was inevitable that Graham would continue this tradition and started his working life as a Graphic Artist. After working as a junior in a Design & Reprographics Studio in West London, he moved on to take up the position of Productive Artist for Nutmeg Mills. During this time period in the early 1990's, there was a transition in the workplace from working completely by hand using old and now redundant techniques to being almost completely reliant on the computer. It was here that Graham learnt and honed his skills and by fusing these together with a desire for perfection and the knowledge passed down by his Father & Grandfather, he has developed his own unique working methods to create mural art with wide applications at an affordable price.

Graham now lives with his family in East Sussex and works between London and the South Coast.
